Tracey.jpg

After 26 years of dedicated service to the State of California, Tracey is no stranger to the political process. She has distinguished herself by successfully undertaking a broad spectrum of responsibilities and roles over the years, including office assistant, scheduler, special assistant to the Senator, committee secretary for the Senate Transportation and Housing Committee, project manager and Executive Scheduler to the Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee Chair.

A true asset throughout her legislative career, Tracey assisted with some of California's most pressing challenges. In 2019, Senator Holly Mitchell introduced SB 188, known as The CROWN Act. This legislation outlawed hair discrimination in the State of California. Tracey received well-deserved recognition for her role in creating the acronym, which stands for Creating a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural hair. The Crown Act was first signed into law in California and has since been signed into law in several other states.

Tracey continues to work closely with the California Black Chamber of Commerce and the California Legislative Black Caucus on special projects. She takes immense pride in her work with high school students during the African-American Leaders for Tomorrow program, held annually on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills.

In her role as Executive Coordinator at Deveau Burr Group, Tracey leverages her relationships with legislative staff, as well as Members of the Legislature to make connections, build partnerships, and gain access to key resources. Her vast experience in coordinating events, scheduling, and overseeing special projects enhances the intricate work of Deveau Burr Group.

Tracey is a Southern California native, however, she is now a proud Sacramentan, living in Natomas. She enjoys traveling, event planning, and spending time with her husband, 3 children, and 7 grandchildren.
