Kayla Cannon
Chief of Staff
Kayla joins the Deveau Burr Group as Chief of Staff, with over 5 years of experience working in government relations. Kayla is responsible for the direct scheduling and assistance to the Managing Partners. She tracks legislation, drafts bill position letters, executes client lobby days, and ensures seamless day-to-day operations for the firm. Kayla keeps clients apprised to updates in the California Legislature and the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA), and she also plays crucial role in planning events for clients and the firm.
Formerly Deputy Chief of Staff at Strategies 360, Kayla has great attention to detail and enjoys cultivating relationships with clients and legislative staff.
Prior to her career in policy, Kayla worked in Communications at Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, where she executed both internal and external communications for the tribal government. She also spent time working in the wine industry in Napa Valley. She is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento earning a Bachelor of Art in Communication Studies.
On the weekends, you can find her exploring Northern California with her husband, Griff, their Standard Poodle, Darcy, and daughter, Gwen.
